Meribel, a jewel at the heart of the 3 Valleyss

Meribel ski area

Located at the heart of the ski area, the Méribel valley is the perfect starting point to explore the 3 Valleys. It’s near Méribel that you’ll find the steepest vertical drops in the entire domain. With fast access to both the Courchevel and Belleville valleys, Méribel also stands strong on its own.

Much like its ski resorts, Méribel’s ski area is incredibly diverse. From the gentle, wide green runs around the Altiport area above the village to the dramatic slopes of Mont Vallon, the variety is exceptional – there’s something for every taste, and in abundance.

Off-piste skiing in the forest, towards the top of the La Tania area.

From the top of La Saulire, you get sweeping views across the opposite slope and its countless ski runs.

Mottaret can be seen below, on the lower right of the image. The ski areas visible across the valley include Mont de la Challe and Roc des 3 Marches. It’s vast – and yet it’s only a small part of the 3 Valleys ski area.

The ski resorts of the Meribel valley

Mottaret 1700m

Modern and practical "ski in ski out" resort, Mottaret has developed an architecture that is reasonably integrated into its environment with its sloping roofs and wooded facades. The center of the village has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Mottaret is located in the center of the ski area.

Meribel 1450m

More discreet, more subdued than its turbulent neighbor Courchevel, the resort, a large village with particularly neat traditional architecture, has a recognized charm that it has managed to preserve. Meribel combines tradition and modernity by offering all the services that a large ski resort can offer.

Meribel Village 1400m

The last born of the 3 Valleys ski resorts, Meribel Village is exposed to the north for better snow quality.
It is a pretty little resort in the forest where it is good to spend your holidays. Quick access via the detachable Golf chairlift to the Altiport de Meribel area, where there are many large green runs for beginner skiers and from which you can easily access the rest of the ski area.

Les Allues 1100m

A little away from the ski area, the village of Les Allues is nevertheless well connected to the 3 Valleys via the Olympe cable car. When the snow conditions allow it, you can even go back down on your skis by following a long ski-run in an exceptionally beautiful and unspoiled natural environment.
Les Allues existed long before the ski resorts and will probably remain long after. There reigns the calm, the sweetness of life of an authentic village that lives all year round.

Les Allues: An authentic village

Arrival at Les Allues via the ski slope

Skiing down to Les Allues is like stepping back in time. It's a far cry from the ski lifts and bustle of the 3 Valleys. The slope isn't equipped with snow cannons and rarely has snow. But it's an unforgettable experience when conditions permit.
